The Association has distributed the document showing the February 1 membership numbers for the branches in NC:
This was sent to branch presidents, membership vice presidents and finance officers. The count should include all regular, dual, life, and honorary life members and student affiliates whose dues/fees were received in DC by Jan. 31, 2006. If there are errors in the count, branch presidents are asked to be sure these are reported by March 17 to records@aauw.org with “FEB. 1 COUNT DISCREPANCY” in the subject. Please also note the discrepancy on the delegation form that will determine your branch’s voting strength at the AAUW NC Convention.
While the report lists membership numbers for the branches in Alamance, Rocky Mount and Wilson, those branches have disbanded. There are 22 active branches in North Carolina (pending the charter of the High Country branch which will make 23).
In what may be the fastest reply on record, the Association membership department reports that the 4 “members” of Alamance, Rocky Mount and Wilson have been changed to at-large status. Future reports, if they include those branches at all, should show them with 0 members.
