PRESIDENTS’ MESSAGE: It was a great honor to have President Nancy Shoemaker as our speaker last month. Thank you, Nancy, for sharing the latest AAUW news with our members.
We are trying something new for our fundraiser this year. Partnering with Charlene Shearer of Tastefully Simple, we will host a food and drink tasting at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church, 711 Henderson Drive in Jacksonville on April 30 at 6:30 p.m. You will have the opportunity to try a wonderful assortment of fast, flavorful, fun foods that you may then order from Charlene. A percentage of the purchases will fund our AAUW/Jacksonville Regional Branch Scholarship at Coastal Carolina Community College. This is our major fundraiser for the year, so please bring friends and relatives and plan to have a wonderful time.
We would like to extend a cordial invitation to Twin Rivers/New Bern and Wilmington branches and to the Onslow County Council for Women to join us for this event.

Feel free to gather orders from your friends and relatives, especially if they cannot attend. This will be our only fundraiser for this scholarship and we want as many orders as possible.

BRANCH NOMINATING COMMITTEE: We need three members to nominate candidates for the 2007-2008 officers slate. Please contact Connie if you can serve in this capacity. Your job is simple: Contact the existing officers and ask them if they wish to serve another term. If not, find a candidate to fill the slot(s). We will be voting in May, so we are running out of time.

May 19 (Saturday), 3 p.m. – Installation Banquet, Duck’s, 1207 Gum Branch Rd., Jacksonville.
June and July – NO BRANCH FUNCTIONS
