STEM Ed North Carolina invites our followers and friends to celebrate and enjoy Women and Girls in Science on Super Bowl Sunday.February 11 is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, and to celebrate we've highlighted some of the incredible, inspiring women working within the Australian space industry.👩‍🚀 𝗞𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹𝗹-𝗣𝗲𝗴𝗴, 𝗔𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗮𝘂𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲Katherine is the Director of Space Technology at the Australian Space Agency and has made history as the first Australian woman to be trained as an astronaut by an international space agency. The first Australian citizen to fly as a citizen of Australia, she began her training with the European Space Agency (ESA) in April 2023, and is due to complete training later this year.
