Last fall, the “member services database” was launched at www.aauw.org. I helped run a workshop in Phoenix about this, and presented some of the information at the AAUW NC summer meeting.
I forgot to pass out the handouts on the database — I’ll be mailing those to the branch presidents in the next edition of the BP mailing. In the meantime, you can find the slides and the handout at wiki.bbvx.org.
The key messages are:
- Be sure your branch president is registered so she can update the list of branch officers
- Be sure your branch treasurer is registered so she can post dues payments, contributions, and update members records.
- If either the branch president or treasurer is not “online,” consider naming an assistant — either entered as a co-officer, or “loaning” their e-mail address and agreeing to keep the offline person in the loop. The president can also name a co-treasurer in this system if someone else needs the permission to update the member records.
