Jacksonville Regional Branch January 2009 Newsletter

PRESIDENTS’ MESSAGE: Greetings, Members, and Happy New Year! I am hoping that 2009 will be filled with good health and happiness for all of you and your loved ones.

Please make plans to attend the State Convention this year. It will be in Wilmington and we are celebrating 100 years of AAUW in North Carolina. The next issue of the Tarheel News will have all the registration and program information.

Our January speaker is Dr. Patricia Seagraves. She is the site director for the Camp Lejeune FOCUS project. This program works with families dealing with the stresses of deployment. Each of us knows at least one person who is dealing with these stressors. It may be a friend, a neighbor, or someone at church. If you teach, then many of your students may be dealing with these situations. Please invite your friends, neighbors or co-workers to attend this meeting with you.

Looking forward to seeing you on January 26th.

JoAnn, Co-president
