21 Days of Action

21 Days of ActionAAUW is sponsoring a national campaign to PASS THE PAYCHECK FAIRNESS ACT in SEPTEMBER!

To this end, they’ve published a calendar of what you can do THIS MONTH to urge the Senate to move on this important piece of legislation — one of the first that the House passed in early 2009.

Neither Kay Hagan nor Richard Burr has signed on as a cosponsor of this legislation. They need to hear from us on how important it is to pass this comprehensive bill that would create stronger incentives for employers to follow the law, empower women to negotiate for equal pay, and strengthen federal outreach, education and enforcement efforts.ย  The “Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act” addressed a specific piece of the puzzle — the Fair Pay Act is the legislation that defines the entire landscape of the Fair Pay issue.
