As you may have heard by now, on Wednesday, Nov. 16, the Senate voted 58-41 on cloture for the Paycheck Fairness Act. This procedural vote needed 60 votes to pass, and since it didn’t, the bill will not be heard in the Senate in this session of Congress. Though it was passed by the House in January, 2009, the decades long effort to improve the legal climate for Fair Pay will need to start from scratch.Here, though, is a video showing advocates for the bill, including AAUW’s Lisa Maatz sitting next to President Obama, talking about having the effort continue:
