Hendersonville honors two with Named Gifts

  • by

The Named Gift is a program sponsored by AAUW to honor branch members who have made significant contributions to carrying out the mission of AAUW. It is the highest honor that the branch can bestow.

The Hendersonville branch selected American Fellowships, the AAUW program which awards financial support to U.S. women scholars who are completing doctoral dissertations and/or research, to honor Kathleen Hespelt and Jodi Scott. This American Fellowship fund is the country’s largest benefactor for women seeking financial awards for post-graduate education.

Kathleen Hespelt and Jodi Scott joined AAUW in 2005. They have both been Vice Presidents, Kathleen as Membership Chair and Jodi as Program Chair for General Meetings. In addition, they have been active leaders in Interest Groups, Higher Education, and most recently the Tea Party fundraising events. Jodi was co-chair for the successful Tea Party. Kathleen was a delegate to the recent AAUW NC meeting in Greensboro. Their service to the branch is greatly appreciated and will be noted in the directory’s list of Named Gift Recipients.

Dr. Bonny Marsh, former branch president, was also specially honored for her years of leadership and service to the branch.
