What’s at Stake for Women in 2006

AAUW Public Policy and Government Relations Director Lisa Maatz recently gave a speech, What’s at Stake for Women in 2006, to the Fall District Conference of St. Lawrence County and Jefferson County AAUW Branches (New York State) and was recorded for broadcast by a local television station which has made it available to watch on the Internet at http://media.clarkson.edu/.

In her one hour and fifteen minute long speech Maatz analyzed the issues at stake for women in the mid-term elections and put it all in context of the current political situation. Throughout her speech the emphasis was placed on AAUW priorities of preserving Social Security, equal pay for equal work, equity in education, and promoting a fair and independent judiciary.
