As a special courtesy to AAUW Members, the deadline for submitting the Every Member Poll has been extended until Friday, February 1. Please fill out this important survey and make your voice heard.
Title IX at 35: Beyond the Headlines
The National Coalition for Women and Girls in Education, chaired by AAUW, held a briefing entitled “Title IX at 35: Beyond the Headlines” on January 23, 2008. Links to the executive summary and full report can be found on the AAUW Public Policy landing page.
Campus Action Project Teams Selected
Seven Campus Action Project teams from around the country have been selected to implement projects based on recommendations from the AAUW Educational Foundation’s 2007 research report Behind the Pay Gap. The selected projects focus on promoting careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) among women and girls; encouraging women to negotiate for better quality jobs and pay; and raising awareness of the gender pay gap with the goal of ending gender discrimination.

AAUW’s Behind the Pay Gap report and the subject of pay equity will be prominently featured on the NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams special series “The Truth About Boys and Girls.” The segment features Catherine Hill, author of the report and AAUW director of research, and Janet Conney, a former LAF plaintiff and an AAUW member, and will air this Thursday, January 17. Please check your local listings for airtimes as they vary not only by time zone but also by city.
