Public Policy Priorities 2016

At its 2016 annual meeting, AAUW NC approved the following public policy priorities

  • Raise the minimum wage
  • Promote equal pay policies and practices to close the gender gap
  • Increase support for quality, locally governed public education
  • Promote educational opportunities for girls and women
  • Support passage of the Equal Rights Amendment
  • Expand Medicaid

The meeting also passed a resolution calling for the repeal of HB2 and this has also been addressed by the public policy committee.
