Finding AAUW Leaders

  • by

The next issue of the Tar Heel News will have information on reaching AAUW leaders. However, the new AAUW.org will be launched shortly after that goes to press, so we won’t be able to get the new addesses into the paper. This article will be referred to as your “online cheat sheet” and it will be updated very soon after the new site launches.

Please click on the title of this article, and then bookmark the page that has just this article on it. When you need to reach someone in AAUW (national or state leader, a leader in another NC branch, or someone in your own branch), just come back here for a quick reminder on how to do that.

AAUW/JACKSONVILLE REGIONAL BRANCH AUGUST 2007 NEWSLETTER

PRESIDENTS’ MESSAGE: It’s going to be hard to beat last year’s programs, but we’re going to try. We are starting off the year with a fun outing on Saturday, August 25th. We will meet at the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. The Aquarium reopened last year after a $25 million expansion. Let’s see what all the excitement is about! Details below.

Thank you to our new and returning officers – Katharyn (Treasurer), Judy (Secretary), Joanne (VP Membership), Heather (VP Programs) and Connie and Evelyn (Co-Presidents) – for stepping up to the plate and taking a leadership role in the branch. Heather already has a number of great possibilities for programs and would welcome your input if you have a particular area of interest.

We do have one slot that needs to be filled immediately, our Publicity Chair. We need someone to submit our meeting information to area newspapers every month in a timely fashion. If you are available to do this, please contact Connie (910/346-8223).

OUR NEXT ACTIVITY: This is a fun activity just to spend some time together and enjoy a picnic lunch at the North Carolina Aquarium at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 25. We will wander through the newly expanded and remodeled exhibits and then have a leisurely picnic on the grounds. There is a snack bar that serves typical snack-bar fare, or you are welcome to bring your own lunch.

The Aquarium is located five miles west of Atlantic Beach on NC58, Mile Marker 7. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors age 62 and over. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes and your AAUW pin. Please contact Connie for carpooling possibilities (910/346-8223 or cgo@ec.rr.com ).
